When you drive down broad street and see the sign for 88 Street Food, it would be easy to pass it by without a second glance. The sign and building is unassuming, but the interior is very clean and modern feeling. The owners who work behind the register are easily some of the nicest and most welcoming people I've ever encountered in a restaurant. I would come back to the restaurant simply for the warm service. The food was pretty good as well. Banh Mi were among the best I've ever had. Bread was nice and crusty and the pork belly was full of flavor, I wish there was more! Noodles were good, I wish the pork had a little more of the classic Vietnamese grilled pork char. Garlic sauce on the wontons was excellent, but the wontons were a little too cooked for me. Definitely worth a visit!

Such a good new food try! My boyfriend & I split the bahn mi, bao buns, & crispy roll and they were all top tier dishes in my opinion. I'm less of a Vietnamese food expert, but he has it frequently & was excited to find a comparable spot. The ambiance was also spot on! While it's a fast casual spot, it was incredibly clean & cozy and in addition to that, our food was brought out to us. The best touch was the incredibly friendly staff. A husband & wife duo checked on us consistently & were so sweet. Will definitely be back!

We had a lovely time at 88 street food. I started out with some delicious boba tea (I had the passsionfruit). For dinner my friends and I had a large selections of appetizers! I personally tried the spring rolls (so fresh and crunchy!) as well as the garlic shrimp bowl which I felt was a great deal. We got our food promptly and the owner and his wife were so nice. This was a great choice! Plus there's a very cute live wall for your instagram shots. Definitely recommend!

Great price and amazing boba selections! Tried ube coffee boba and it was amazing as it's strong coffee blended and topped with ube fluff to ease the acidic. I enjoyed the drink very much as another drink, Vietnamese coffee boba. It's similar to ube coffee except it was without ube. It sustained strong coffee flavor with sugar. I could taste a hint of condensed milk. I'd get these flavors again to stay awake! Tried their pork bahn mi and it was so good.... So juicy - juicy and good texture of pork topped with fresh vegetables and surrounded with soft French bread... altogether it was a firework in mouth! I haven't had a good Vietnamese sandwich for a long time! I'd recommend this sandwich to anyone! Service was efficient with great hospitality. They were so friendly and patient with us as we were trying to decide on which to order! The restaurant itself was neat and spacious. Lots of people coming in by afternoon on the weekend.

Delicious Vietnamese food, relatively cheap prices (compared to DC), and very friendly cute service. I had: - Ube coffee (with almond milk) - lightly sweet and refreshing - 1 Vietnamese coffee (with almond milk) - delicious, sweet, strong coffee flavors - Bulgogi beef rice bowl - okay, not really worth the price, needs more meat and less rice. - Lemongrass pork banh mi - delicious! Very flavorful meat/sauce, crispy yet also doughy soft bread, and satiating, all at only $8!

Best banh mi in Richmond!! My friends and I decided to try 88 Street food since we heard their banh mi is really good. I ordered the lemongrass pork. The bread tasted very fresh! The combination of meat and veggies in the banh mi was amazing too! There are sauces available to add to the sandwich as well. Also, the prices are super reasonable. The workers were very kind, and I also talked to the owner who is very down to earth. The restaurant is relatively new, so it was very clean inside. I highly recommend and definitely will be back!

This is secret gem in Richmond. Some of the best food and friendly service you'll ever get. I got the bao bun (bun bun)with the lemongrass pork, a bahn mi pork belly, Vietnamese iced coffee and passion mango boba. This was probably the best banh mi I ever had. The bread was fresh and crunchy. The pickled carrot, daikon, cilantro were all amazing and greatly complemented the pork belly! The bao bun was also super amazing! It was soft, fluffy, and slightly sweet. The lemongrass pork was sweet and savory that I had a hard time having the last bite as I did not want it to end. The bao bun was my favorite part of the meal. Both drinks were great. The staff and service was the nicest and friendliest for a casual cafe I have ever experienced. Overall an amazing place that I highly recommend and will be coming back to in the near future. Food: 9 Staff/service: 9.0 Value: 7 Overall: 8.8/10

I've been wanting to try this spot out since they opened, and I'm not sure why it took me so long other than it is in a notoriously bad location for restaurants. Nothing lasts long in this space, so it's forgettable. That said, I didn't realize the name of it is 88 Street Food, because their signage says BAHN MI, which is what I thought its name was. Anyhow, finally stopped in to grab bahn mi, which is my absolute fav. Got the Pork Belly and crispy rolls for me, the Teriyaki Chicken for a friend, and the Teriyaki Chicken Rice Bowl for my mom. For what I got, I have zero complaints. I will absolutely go again. And again. Want to try the noodle bowls. The food comes out FAST, and service is nice. Decor is nothing to write home about, but the food is solid. Plenty of parking. Nice price, too!
